Major responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement medical project plans and strategies and their effectiveness.
- Facilitate availability of medical consumables.
- Oversea shunts availability and distribution.
- Oversea medical service procedures and personnel.
- Coordinate what patients require.
- Organize, fundraise and coordinate medical camps (twice a year).
- Reach out and engage doctors to volunteer for medical camps.
- Facilitate medical equipment fundraising and outsourcing.
- Spearhead in recruiting of medical staff.
- Attend meetings and medical activities report writing.
Qualifications:
- A qualified medical doctor, a specialist is an added advantage.
- Passionate about children and their health.
- Skills- organizer, networking, problem solving, hardworking, analytical, detail oriented, management, technical, interpersonal, fundraising and communication skills.
2. Information and publicity Manager
Major Responsibilities:
- Facilitate creation of IEC material
- Prepare and implement information and publicity project plans and strategies and their effectiveness.
- To update and upload information on social media platforms, and manage them.
- Coordinate social media coverage during events.
- Facilitate coverage on radio, TV and newspaper.
- Ensure visibility of all wings of the organization.
- Spearhead in recruiting of information and publicity staff.
- Attend meetings and report writing.
- Draft press release statements on behalf of the organization.
Qualifications:
- A degree in media studies, journalism, public relations, communications or English.
- Computer literate.
- Skills – communication, writing, public speaking, problem solving, fundraising and organization.
3. Preventative measures manager
Major responsibilities:
- Facilitate community awareness campaigns on preventative measures.
- Prepare and implement preventative measures project plans and strategies and their effectiveness.
- Facilitate dialogues on preventative measures.
- Conduct education and outreaches on preventative measures.
- Conduct high-level advocacy at policy level.
- Facilitate preventative measures availability, fundraising and outsourcing.
- Spearhead in recruiting of preventative measures staff.
- Attend meetings and preventative measures activities report writing.
Qualifications:
- Degree in public health or development studies or related fields.
- Previous experience in advocacy initiatives an added advantage.
- Skills- team work, advocacy, initiative, problem solving, flexibility/ adaptability, strong work ethic, communication (written and verbal), networking, facilitation and people management.
4. Social Integration Manager
Major responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement social integration project plans and strategies and their effectiveness.
- Work directly with families of patients with spina bifida and or hydrocephalus offering support.
- Establish and spearhead support groups for persons with spina bifida and or hydrocephalus; and support groups for parents and caregivers with persons with such a condition.
- Offer counselling to patients and their families.
- Facilitate referral pathways for persons with spina bifida and or hydrocephalus to access health, education, counseling and mentorship.
- Fundraise and advocate for inclusion for persons with the condition, and for their basic needs respectively.
- Spearhead in recruiting of social integration staff.
- Attend meetings and social integration activities report writing.
Qualifications:
- A degree in social work.
- Passionate about children.
- Skills- empathy, organization, active listening, patience, critical thinking, networking, communication, fundraising and community engagement.
5. Medical Practitioners
Major responsibilities
- To assist in offering free consultations/treatments to patients. (Number of consultations to be agreed per month depending on flexibility of volunteer practitioner)
Qualification
- Any medical practitioner or personnel, from nurses, general practitioners, pediatricians, neurosurgeons, psychologists, anesthesiologists, urologists, orthopedic surgeons, general surgeons, radiologists, endocrinologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists etc.
- Passionate about children and their health.
- Skills- organizational skills, ability to work with diverse group of people, problem solving, hardworking, analytical, detail oriented, technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
NB:
The posts shall be on a part-time and voluntary basis without remuneration. The duration of the contract shall be 1 to 2 years, or any period agreed upon and subject to renewal upon good performance.
